Fall Southern Pottery & Folk Art Auction
Lot 94A:
Rare Cheever Meaders (1887-1967 ) Single Handle Cream Riser from White Co. Georgia Mossy Creek District. This is a fantastic example and a classic sought after form, note this is the only one we have seen offered. We have herd of another damaged in a private collection but have not seen it. This one is just outstanding with Cheevers classic handle with thumb kick, down to the classic glaze that is seen in his works. The piece has two lines and is one gallon in size. When it comes to condition its top shelf, its basically near mint. Has two drying or firing lines in rim, will not leak water, no chips or cracks or repairs. One small glaze skip on the side, nothing distracting. This is a great museum quality example and will make a fine addition in any collection. Fresh and standing 7 1/4" x 5 1/2" at base.
Condition: Its basically near mint. Has two drying or firing lines in rim, will not leak water, no chips or cracks or repairs. One small glaze skip on the side, nothing distracting.
