Description
Rare James Williams (1850-?) 1/2gal Perry Co. Alabama Jug from the 1880s. This example has a fantastic, modified lime alkaline glaze that bears stellar eye appeal around the entire jug. This example has a strong attribute station based off signed James Williams example it is also noted in Alabama Folk Pottery book by Joey Brackner that he lived next door to Potter Jesse Skinner in 1880. This example was documented by Countryman and Forbesmany years ago for their website for reference materials. Provenance: private central Alabama collection. Condition: No chips, cracks or repairs present. Standing: 8 ???" Tall
