Lot 65:
Early 1850s Crawford Co. GA Quart Decorated Jug
Description
Early 1850s Crawford County, Georgia Quart Decorated Jug. Strongly attributed to the Long family. This example has a modified lime alkaline glaze with grape swag decoration on the shoulder of the jug and that early Long handle with a tooled rim which is extremely scarce in Crawford County. This is a "Cagle Top Shelf Example" and is in collector grade condition and will be extremely difficult to upgrade from. This will make a fine addition in any Georgia stoneware collection or museum display. Provenance: fresh to the market example from a 40 plus year private southern stoneware collection. Standing: 6 7/8" tall
