Lot 145:
Description
2002 North Carolina Deer Vase of North Carolina. This is a stellar example of talent, glaze and execution period. The jar details a white tail deer "8 Point Buck" carved in relief that is lifelike standing in a forest. The details are outstanding and some of the finest carved into clay pieces i have seen. The handle is detailed of a branch all the way to the ring marks in the limb. Again a exceptional example of fine southern craftsmanship and no doubt museum quality folk pottery. Mint condition and is from the Sharp Collection of Lake Lanier. Standing 9 3/4" Tall 2004 Native American Jar that shows a native American ridding a horse through the forest. Details are just stunning in this example and the carved leaves are fantastic to the horse and native American are again fantastic. These works are simple stunning from the details all the way to the glazes. Condition is mint and is singed and dated. Fresh example from the Sharp Collection of Lake Lanier. Standing 9 1/4" Tall I am not falimar with this maker, but very quality pieces.
