Description
Fine 1840s Washington Co. Georgia 1gal Jug. This is a outstanding one gallon jug with earthy rich brown tones with heavy alkaline glaze on one side to a lighter glaze on the other side of the jug. The jug is a very sought after size, in one gallon and has a fantastic collared mouth. Unknown potter but has fine traits and turning skills. The jug will make a fine addition to any southern pottery collection. Condition is excellent with only a few minor rim – glaze flakes, and one minor chip inside lip which is typical for age and wear/use. Has no cracks or repairs and is fresh to the market. Standing 11 1/2"
