Lot 261:
Significant Crawford Co. Signed HD 1/2 Gallon Jug
Description
Scarce and Significant, Crawford County, Georgia Signed "HD" Henry Doss Marshall (1845-1899), Half Gallon Jug. This is one of the finest that has crossed the block and the glaze is a rich lime with deep dark runs that is again stunning. Strong Stamp on the handle. The condition is truly Museum Grade with No chips, cracks or repairs. Fresh discovery from a private Georgia collection. Folks this is a rare bird, find another one. The odds of finding another one half as good as this one is slim to none. In my opinion this is the best known glazed example out their. Standing: 10 1/2" Tall
