1850's Dave Drake Edgefield, SC 5gal Storage Jar
Description
1850’s Dave Drake Slave Made Edgefield, South Carolina 5 Gallon Storage Jar with an exceptional crawling alkaline glaze, the crawling is due to extreme heat in the kiln ad flashing the jar which causes the glaze to crawl, as seen on this jar. This is a collector grade example with a very old rim restoration that is done exceptionally well and is very hard to detect with the naked eye. No chips or cracks and no other restorations present. A Cagle Top Shelf Example and note worthy in any museum or stoneware collection.
