Lot 93:
Description
Fine Texas or Alabama Preserve Jar 1850s. Great example of an antebellum preserve jar with heavy iron pops and a few ash runs that make for great eye appeal on this jar. The jar has strong characteristics of Texas or Alabama clay bodies, this example is difficult for me to tell, multiple people have cited Texas or Alabama on this example. Condition is very good for the age with one insignificant little little glaze stress line note this is not a hairline it is water tight and the canning jar rings true, otherwise outstanding condition. Standing: 10 5/8 tall
