Southern Pottery & Folk Art Extravaganza
Lot 42:
1840s Edgefield, South Carolina Half Gallon Double-Handled Bean Pot or Stew Pot, more than likely slave made due to crude thin handles, and would also point out the handles are very petite and would likely have been done by a child or woman, this is based off of what has been documented here in Georgia . This is a truly rare discovery for Edgefield stoneware in which this pot holds high distinction due to the scarcity of this example. Fresh discovery from an Atlanta area estate. Folks, one will not find a better grade example, don’t let this one get away. Standing 8 1/4" Tall
Condition: One can’t complain of the condition either with truly collector grade example with no damage, true gem mint ten condition. No cracks or repairs.
