Southern Pottery & Folk Art Extravaganza
Lot 53:
Fine example of an 1840s Edgefield, South Carolina Pitcher strongly attributed to Edward Stone (1817-1865) while in Edgefield South Carolina. Has a rich earthy brown alkaline glaze with spotty alkaline green spot on top side. Classic early form tooled rim treatment typical of early Edgefield pitchers. Hard to find example due to being an everyday used piece. Condition is great with one rim chip in tooled rim. Otherwise no condition issues present. Standing 10 1/4" T
