Southern Pottery & Folk Art Auction
Lot 137:
Early and Scarce David Meaders Decorated Churn in a beautiful blue glaze. This is truly a rare bird David personally told me he only did around 30 churns as he did not like to make them, he said "no money in them pots, too much clay, no dough ya know, you understand". But this one, is a different tune with it being decorated of the home place with the mountains in the background. Script signed. Early 80s time period. Truly a collector grade example and simply scarce. Fresh from the Schimer collection. Standing 10 1/2" Tall
Condition: Condition, small portion of handle was broke when David pulled it out of kiln and was reglued by David. No color or repairs have touched this piece. Other wise no condition issues.
