Scarce #3 Eric Hewell Eight Gallon Snake Jug that is just Outstanding.. This is the first example of Eric’s large rattle snake jugs to cross the block at Cagle Auction. This one is of outstanding detail from the mouth and fangs to the scales that are highly detailed. This is a scarce example and is highly significant southern folk pottery piece and is basically as mint as possible. Find another one.. Eric tragically lost his life at a young age at work, just when he was coming into his own in southern folk pottery. His examples are very scarce and are in private collections and almost never come up to auction. Top shelf collector grade example. Fresh from an Atlanta area collection. Standing 18 3/4" Tall
