Significant Issac Craven (1839-1900) Spittoon. This is one of the most sought after forms from Mossy Creek and fewer than six are known, but even less are in collector grade condition. The classic iron sand glaze that the Cravens are known for make this a true monumental example. This is the second one I have seen offered before. Provenance – from the Georgiana Greer collection, has her sticker FP 274 G , Lavon Register Collection, Robert Willingham Collection. Standing 3 3/4" T x 5 1/2" W
Condition: Condition, has a drying line on the top side and due to the thick glaze, has a glaze stress line, not a hairline, does not go through to the inside. No repairs or hairlines or chips.
