Fine 1860s-1870 White Co. Wide Mouth Two Gallon Sorghum Jug that is just outstanding. The jug has wide strap handle and classic White County Mossy Creek District tooled mouth, and strongly points to the Craven Family shop. This jug has heavy quartz ground up in the clay body throughout the entire jug. These examples are very sought after and will make a fine addition in any southern pottery collection and is a fresh to the market example from a Cleveland, Georgia estate/collection. Standing 14 1/2" Tall
Condition: Condition, you just can’t get any better than Mint, with NO chips, cracks or repairs. As one of our good friends would say, this jug wore a flea collar its entire life.
