Fine Craven Family 1860s Sorghum Jug from White County, Mossy Creek District, Georgia. This is a very fine example of a Civil War period vessel and has the classic double strap handle and a flat top rim, which is rarely seen in White county by the Craven family. This one has a 4 on the shoulder and has a rich earthy green lime alkaline glaze. The jug is one of the more sought after forms being a double handle vessel. Standing 17" Tall

Condition: Condition is very good for age with two small lip chips, two glaze flakes on the edge of each handle, these are typical and not distracting in any way.
