Southern Pottery, Primitives, & Folk Art
Lot 100:
Rare Four Gallon Sprayberry & Simpson Atlanta Ga. Made by C.S. Kline (1854-1917) Churn note the backwards Ss. This is a very scarce churn and has two stamps and is of salt glaze. The churn is the third known example of marked piece. Highly significant Liquor Distiller in Atlanta and the piece Cagle Auction offered in 2014 was a homebrew jar that was also signed. This is a great example potted by Charles S. Kline. The churn is 1880s time period. Fresh example. Condition has a couple tight hair lines, few minor rim flakes in the inner wall. Otherwise a great mark for southern pottery. No repairs. Standing 16" Tall
