Significant piece of southern folk pottery in this 1992 Michael & Melvin Crocker Elvis Presley Face Jug #3 of ten known. When these face jugs were made they were all pre sold and one is now in the Smithsonian Institute and not sure on the number they have. This is truly a epic face jug, a true tribute to Elvis Presley (1935-1977) and almost is ready to go on tour and perform, it’s just that good, period. To our knowledge and research this is the only one to ever come up for public sale or auction. If you love Elvis Presley, Southern Folk Pottery or Face Jugs, well then this is for you. I can’t simply stress how important this one is to the Face Jug – Folk Pottery community. Simply find another one, this truly is a "Rare Bird" as I often say, and is truly an investment grade example due to only nine left in the public and how many are in mint condition of that nine.. Condition is outstanding, after a cleaning I see on the lip a possible chip restoration only due to a slight discoloration, I am not saying it is, in all honesty I do not believe it’s a repair. It does not fluoresce and could have been caused by a cleaning product or just light glazing during firing. I noticed it when I picked it up and want to make folks aware of this. No chips, cracks or repairs anywhere else. Again not saying it is a restoration & it honestly could be from a cleaning product. In all honesty it does not distract or take value away on this piece in my opinion. Fresh example standing 11" Tall
