Significant Crawford County Signed TJA Thomas J. Averett (1875 – ?) Half Gallon Jug. One of Crawford County’s more significant potters. Mr. Averett had outstanding form and glaze on his pieces. This piece is very unusual in that this is the third example I have seen with a stamp that is different of the normal (TJA) stamps. This one has TJ and sideways A stamped in the handle. Again, this is one of 3 that I have seen with this mark. The other 2 are in a private collection. This piece is highly significant and could not be any better due to the condition is mint with no chips, cracks, or repairs. A must for any Crawford County enthusiast. Fresh to the market example standing 9 3/4" T
