1999 Lin Craven (1946-2011) Devil Snake Preacher #2 This is a great piece of southern folk pottery with this figural. The details in this piece are second to none, as with all her works are top shelf examples. From the African American Devil preacher sitting on a stump holding a liquor jug in his right hand and a rattle snake in his left this shows the powerful fight against the harsh reality’s of life for this man. The details in the forest floor are outstanding all the way to the clothing are done to museum standards. Investment grade examples. Fresh from the Sharp collection of Lake Lanier Georgia. Mint condition & signed and dated. Standing 11 1/2" Tall One of North Georgia master female potters Lin was a kind soul and a master at southern folk pottery with her own flair. She made truly unique one of a kind examples and most pieces were very limited run pieces. She is of ninth generation descendant of the Craven Pottery family dynasty.
