Fine Thomas Chandler Decorated 3gal Gallon This is a outstanding fresh example of southern pottery from Edgefield, South Carolina. Circa 1840-50 this is a outstanding jar with stellar swag loop decoration that has outstanding eye appeal. The jar is early possibly Trapp-Chandler at Kirksey Cross Roads. This jar has the classic Chandler handle and form with the concrete decoration that points to the Chandler. This is a fresh example form a collection form Madison Georgia collection. Condition is great, the jar has been painted multiple times over the years. and the has a overspray on the jar which throws under black light. I can not find any repairs on the jar, but the paint and over spray shows under black light, this is to be clear with everyone. The jar has had grease seep through the bottom from use over the years. Overall a handsome jar and rare to find in three gallon size. Standing 13 1/2" Tall
