Description
Rare Barrow Co. John Delay (1838-1932) Mug. This is a new discovery in Barrow County Georgia stoneware, circa 1875-80’s. This is form the hands of John Delay who stopped potting in 1897. This form is one of the hardest and most sought after in the utilitarian pottery of Barrow County. The piece is in salt and slip glaze with the classic Delay handle and is also footed which is very nice. Fresh find out of a South Atlanta Georgia collection. Condition is great with two minor chips on rim, and a few glaze flakes. Museum quality example. Standing 7 3/4" Tall
