Rare Giles Croom Signed Crawford Co. 1gal Jug
Description
Sought after Giles Croom ( Born 1832 in North Carolina ) "C’ Crawford Co. 1gal Jug this is a very scarce example due to mark only a handful known and this one is a different example due to the condition "mint" and fine glaze. The one gallon southern stoneware jug has a "C" stamped on the handle and is one of his last pieces due to form. This is a fine earthy green alkaline glaze with nice rich runs. The jug has two light concentric lines on the top shoulder which is unusual. The piece is in mint condition and is fresh from a Macon area collection. Highly sought after example for any collector or museum. Standing 12" Tall
