Fine stamped Starling Rufus "SR" Rogers (1881-1954) Six Gallon Slip glazed Churn (Jugtown) Upson-Pike County Georgia Circa 1900s. This is a sought after size in six gallons with a robust slip glaze and has a strong stamp. Condition is very good with a notch on the rim where folks would sharpen knives in the "V". This is typical on utilitarian pieces of this time period. Small stress line about a inch and a half next to the handle and rings true, note not a hairline crack. Small base chip and No repairs. Fresh and standing 18 3/4" Tall
