Description
1830s White Co. Ga Double Handle Sorghum Jug. This is early example of fine White County stoneware with this jug. Early light alkaline glaze and the strap handles with squared mouth. The jug has three concentric line decoration and is a hard to fine example. The condition is as found and is missing one handle, and rim edge chip. see pictures. No cracks or repairs. This jug form is one of the most sought after examples of early stoneware in Georgia. This is a prime candidate for a restoration or left alone as it sits. Fresh from a Atlanta area collection. Standing 17 1/4" Tall
