Important Jimmy Rye Face pot. Born (1869-1952) This is a outstanding important example and this coming from a collection from Hamilton Alabama. This is the only known Jimmy Rye signed (JR) Face Pot circa1885-1900 and came from the Rye Family estate. This is a rare mustard glaze that the Rye family used and is found in the (waster) sherd pile next to the kiln on the Rye property. The glaze is one of the most sough after glazes and not many survived. The face pot is a unique piece with great facial detail in the eyes, nose, mouth and hair detail. Museum grade example that is in gem mint ten condition, No chips, cracks or repairs. 2 1/4" Tall x 3" Wide
