Rare form only known example, broken shards have been documented from Rye shard pile. This is a great example with very nice form and glaze. The jar is a salt glazed example that at some time has been painted black and most removed. The jar is the perfect size and in overall great condition for age, circa 1870-80s time frame. Condition is great with one very tiny chip on rim, No major chips or cracks and repair free. One U shape crazing line, note Not a hairline but crazing lines. Standing 8" Tall
