Buyer's premium:

Stellar & very scarce Half Gallon B.F. Landrum Edgefield South Carolina Jug circa 1840’s, by a enslaved potter. This is a prime example of what fine southern rich alkaline glaze looks like in this half gallon jug. Strong line runs in the body give to a rich earthy dark brown alkaline glaze back drop almost as if it was glazed in two separate stages. The jug has the classic B.F. Landrum cone top rim and arched looping handle that perch on the shoulder of the jug, typical of this time period and is in stellar condition. Only two very insignificant glaze flakes on top of the lips rim. No chips, cracks or repairs, rings true and water tight. A crazing line in the mid section of body very minor. Note Not a hairline. A must for the Edgefield collector due to size and condition with stellar glaze, standing 9 1/4" Tall

Condition: Only two very insignificant glaze flakes on top of the lips rim. No chips, cracks or repairs, rings true and water tight. A crazing line in the mid section of body very minor. Note Not a hairline.
