Fine Crawford Co Merritt Flower Pot Pitcher. One of Georgia stoneware most iconic form is from Crawford Co. and is the flower pot – rice cooker called also by locals, and family. Billy Merritt and other potters in the family made these examples and this is from the hands of Billy Merritt ( 1861-1929 ) from the handle terminals both at top and bottom. This is a fine example of a flower pot pitcher with one concentric line strong Merritt handle and a spout. This piece has a nice suttle glaze and is in overall great condition for age. Has some normal wear from use and age which is typically on utilitarian stoneware, and which is seen in the photos. The pot has No repairs, no cracks or major chips. This is a must form for any southern collector. Standing 6" Tall x 10" Width
