Monumental 1920 CJ Meaders Sr. Decorated Jar
Description
Monumental CJ Meaders Sr. (1880-1934) Decorated Jar, the jar is possibly earlier than 1920 and the painting on the jar is dated 1920 by artist Billy Clinton. The jar has the slip glaze interior that is typical of CJ Meaders Sr. works and also the form. The jar has a stellar painting of a well and a home over looking a flower field which is done with great detail. This is hands down the best example in a painted piece we at Cagle have ever offered. The paint is in very good condition. I think one would search a many mile before finding a example of this quality. This is truly a top shelf example and will make any Meaders or museum collection stand out from the rest. Condition is very good to excellent. No cracks or breaks or chips. Paint is all original. Simply find another one, in all our years it doesn’t get any better than this one. Standing 19 3/4′ Tall
