Description

Fine scarce Edgefield South Carolina B.F. Landrum Stew Pot 1850’s Scarce form/example of a stewpot/storage jar out the B.F. Landrum shop circa 1850s with a nice earthy light olivine alkaline glaze. The jar is fantastic form with double handles and well defined rim. The glaze is very well fired and has a mature well melted glassy glaze. This is a very scarce form, and is the only example I’ve seen with both handles present and one of three I have personally saw in person-collections, this is a highly sought after example. Condition has a tight stress line in the front see picture, has one handle that is broken off and re glued and a chip missing out of the handle, also a chip was re-glued and is very hard to spot. The piece has NO Restorations. This is a prime piece for a restoration or left the way it is. This piece will be accompanied by a letter of authentication from Old Edgefield Pottery Dated July 8, 2010 Standing 7 1/4" Tall
