Caesar Johnson "Gullah Sweetgrass" Basket Rice Fanner, Coastal South Carolina, Circa 1900-1920’s. Significant Caesar Johnson (1872- Died after 1960) These baskets descended in the families of Savannahians who purchased them from dealers and makers in Savannah between 1915-1940’s. Family history states – they were all produced by African American maker named Caesar Johnson. Highly sought after example. Size 15" Diameter
