Description
1835-1840 Charles H. Ferguson (1793-1878) Jackson County, Georgia 3 Gallon Jar, extremely important example with an "I" or "1" pressed into the shoulder, also a scratched 3 in the back side of the shoulder. This example is highly significant in early Georgia stoneware. Charles was trained in Edgefield, as his neighbors were the Pottersville Site. Condition: for the age of the pot it is in excellent condition with a few minor rim chips and two tight stress lines, the jar rings true. Also note the blue rutile on top of the lug shoulder, no repairs. Standing 12 3/4" T
