Signed CH Bird 5gal Cobalt Churn Bolton, GA
Description
Signed CH Bird (1850-1913) Five Gallon Cobalt Churn Stenciled Bolton, Georgia 5. Extremely scarce example with a strong cobalt stencil on the lower front that says manufactured by CH Bird Bolton, Georgia 5. This example has a salt glazed body with a strong cobalt stamp that makes for great eye appeal and form. Also noted a slip glaze interior. Folks, if you collect Atlanta marked examples this one has to be at the top of the list due to the appeal and condition, it’s mint no damage or repairs present. This example is noteworthy in any southern museum especially Georgia and would be extremely difficult to upgrade from, simply find another one. This is the second example of a script signed CH Bird Cagle auction has brought to the market. Standing: 17 1/2" Tall
