Exceedingly scarce 1840-50s Randolph County Alabama Baking Dish with lug handles. Folks this is one of the most incredible baking dishes we have ever brought to market at Cagle Auction this lug handled baking dish from the antebellum south. It is simply incredible. Folks, the form on this one, is just screaming through the roof with outstanding eye appeal, accompanied by a mature lime alkaline glaze. This is the second example that we have ever offered and the only one I have ever seen from Randolph County Alabama in collector grade condition, 98% of these examples are heavily broken due to utilitarian everyday use. This truly is a rare bird folks. A Cagle top shelf example, And they must for any southern stoneware enthusiast. Condition what were insignificant glaze flakes 2 are on the log handle and two around the rim edge, a very tight firing line that range true, no repairs. Standing: 5" Tall x 11" Wide
