Crawford County Thomas Pyles 1/2 Gal Jug

Great Crawford County, Georgia, Thomas Pyles 1/2gal Jug. This is one of southern pottery’s most sought after Georgia Potters this example is unsigned but no doubt of Pyles example. Classic Pyles handle and flat top rim combined with the teardrop or pear-shaped form all point to his works. This jug bears a rich modified alkaline glaze, with strong eye appeal and outstanding form. When it comes to condition this one is in collector grade with two minor rim edge chips and one glaze chip on the handle. No cracks or repairs present. Standing: 9 7/8 Tall
