Description
Stunning Elmore County Alabama Three Gallon Jar. This example is just fantastic with an outstanding iron washed alkaline glaze. This lug handled jar has great form and eye appeal and we’ll make a fantastic addition to any southern pottery collection. Examples of this caliber or extremely difficult to acquire in our instantly wrapped up by discerning collectors. Provenance: Years ago, this example was in the Countryman & Forbes collection and was traded for many years ago, now (present day) from a Private central Alabama collection. Condition: Two insignificant inner rim chips note these are not distracting at all and our typical with utilitarian usage from the time period. Firing line at base that forms Y, the jar rings true and holds water note this is not considered a hairline crack by Cagle Auction Company. Standing: 15" Tall
