Folks this Sterrett Pottery Five Gallon Jar from Shelby County Alabama is just outstanding example of a Five Gallon double loop handle jug That is just large and in charge with a great glaze and those double loop handles are just fantastic. This example is extremely difficult to find in the collector grade mint condition, meaning no damage. Examples like this almost never surface, especially pots being 5 gallons due to everyday utilitarian usage. Again, I can’t stress how important this example is from Sterrett. Quote it will be extremely difficult to get a comparable, truly folks a rare bird. A true Cagle top shelf example. A must for any southern stoneware enthusiast.
