Turner Davidson Oak Level Cleburne Co. Alabama Jar
Description
Exceptional example of Oak Level Alabama Attributed to Potter Turner Ashford Davidson (1861-1943) this example is from the 1870-80s time period. It is also noted by Joey Brackner that he worked for J.A. Rogers (1875 GA-1936 ALA) pottery shop in Oak Level as well. The jar bears an exceptional alkaline lime glaze with iron burst making for great eye appeal. Also note the collared rim treatment which makes this a very unusual example And highly significant. This example is another Cagle top shelf example and the first example by Turner Davidson we have ever offered. Provenance: from a Huntsville, Alabama collection. Condition: Investment/Collector grade, no damage, cracks or repairs. Standing: 10 1/4" Tall
