Lot 39:
Description
Stunning Crawford County Signed "WB" Washington Becham (1835-1918) Two Gallon Jug from the 1860s-70s time period. Exceptionally modified Lyme alkaline glaze with paint rock modeled in the glaze that gives fantastic eye appeal and the form on this one is just fantastic with that classic Becham beehive form. Provenance: fresh to the market example from a 40 plus-year private collection. Standing: 9 ???" Tall
Condition: This example is truly a Cagle top shelf example due to form glaze and strong WB stamp. This example has 3 insignificant glaze flakes along the rim, nothing distracting, typical for age and use. No major chips, cracks and no repairs are present. This example will be difficult to upgrade from.
