Impressive Ussery Shop, Bacon Level, Randolph County Alabama Eight Gallon Jar. Outstanding 8-gallon double loop handle jar with concentric line decoration in three rows that encased the jar with the outstanding lime alkaline glaze. This jar is from the 1860-1870 time period. This example really stands out with exceptional appeal and form and just truly commands attention. Examples like this rarely often surface and this one is truly a Cagle top shelf example, examples like this generally are in high end collections or institutions. Also, one must take into consideration examples of this size (8 Gallons) are extremely scarce due to the everyday utilitarian use That these examples were meant for. Simply most of these examples did not make it this long in life. Folks simply find another one.
