Lot 68:
Description
Scarce Giles Croom (1832 NC – GA?) Crawford County, Georgia Quart Jug from the 1860s time period. This example is extremely sought after due to the maker and quart size in monumental collector grade condition. This example is attributed to Giles W. Croom based from signed examples and classic sloppy lower handle terminal and neck placement/form. This example bears a great modified lime alkaline glaze that has great eye appeal. This example will be extremely difficult to upgrade from due to scarce quartz size and condition. Provenance: fresh to the market example from a 40 year plus private southern stoneware collection. Standing:7 7/8" Tall
