Crawford Co. Georgia Signed 'JBL' 5gal Jar
Description
Outstanding Crawford County, Georgia Signed "JBL" Jesse Bradford Long (1808-1880 Texas) Five Gallon Jar that is stamped on both handles. This example bears a strong paint rock alkaline glaze and classic loop handle with strong JBL stamp on each handle also note this jar is seated for a lid. Jars of this magnitude are extremely important and scarce due to everyday utilitarian use. This example is in collector grade condition and is highly significant in Georgia stoneware. JBL examples are extremely difficult to find, and this one will make a fantastic addition in any southern stoneware collection. Condition: typical small chips around the rim and one handle edge shearing chip and no other condition issues present. No cracks or repairs present. Provenance: fresh to the market example from a 40 plus year private collection. Standing: 17" Tall
