Description

Rare Eight Gallon Charles S. Kline Born in Ohio (1854-1917). This pot is circa 1883-85 time period in Atlanta Georgia Howell Mills area, and has a great stamp on the top of the rim with a 8 – Kline. This is the only known example being plus being so large this makes it that much more desirable piece of Atlanta stoneware. Hands down this is a museum grade piece with outstanding salt glaze and the kiln drips are just fantastic. The jar is salt glaze exterior and a interior is a slip glaze. Strong stamp with two concentric lines. Again only known example in the gallon capacity of eight gallons. A must for any Georgia collector or stoneware collector. This fresh example from a eastern Georgia collection, simply find another one. I would almost bet this is the only known example of this size in eight gallons. Condition is near mint, only two glaze flakes on the inside rim lip. No major chips, cracks or repairs. Standing 18 1/4" Tall
