Buyer's premium:

Significant example by an enslaved potter Isham Hudson of Hickory Flat, (Chambers County) Alabama. This is the second known example we have had the privilege of offering and is one of three others known, period. This is the largest known jar at Four Gallons and has a stellar Lime glaze and classic Isham Hudson handles and correct terminals as well as concentric line decoration. This jar was discovered at an estate in west central Georgia and is truly a fresh to the market example. This is a monumental discovery and should be on every Alabama collector’s radar. When it comes to eye appeal and form, this one takes the cake hands down. Condition is collector grade with No damage, no chips, cracks or repairs. Note at base it has two firing lines due to small pieces of rock almost blowing out, again these two are Not hairlines and the jar is water tight and rings true. Folks, these examples are getting scarcer by the day and not many shards were found at the Hudson Site, which is still owned by the same family. Everything about this jar points to Isham Hudson’s hands and this is an amazing piece. Don’t let this one get away, truly a "Top Shelf" example. Truly find another one, and a rare bird.. Standing: 18" Tall
