Fine 1850s Edgefield, South Carolina, Dave Drake (1800-After 1870) Two Gallon Jug. Strong Dave Drake form with his classic handles and thumb print that is pressed into the lower terminal. The jug is Stoney Bluff site and is just fantastic with a striking runny earthy brown alkaline glaze. The Jug has a tooled rim treatment and bulbous form. This jug was found in a middle Georgia home. Fresh example. Standing 13 1/4"
Condition: Condition, is collector grade. The jug is 100% original and the rim was knocked off and re glued and Not Repaired. Again, no color blending was done. It is only seen when examined up close. Otherwise in great, near mint condition. Again No Repairs or cracks, or chips.
