Significant 1820s Slave-Made, Edgefield South Carolina, Pottersville Salt. One of the South’s most sought after pieces of stoneware. These almost never surface due to size and almost always were thrown out or damaged. This one is a rich earthy alkaline glaze with great eye appeal. The footed form makes for more unique eye appeal. Only one insignificant foot flake for damage, no other damage or condition issues present. This is a statement piece and worthy of any collection or museum display.
