1840s Washington County, Georgia Quart Size Lidded Jar, that has a great early crude from and also has the original lid that is glazed. The lid is highly significant due to one being with the jar and also that its glazed. This almost never happens to find a matched, glazed lid. Unknown potter at this time, and possible slave made. Condition is very good for age and use, vey tight 1" stress line and one chip inner rim wall. Glaze chip on handle, lid is in great condition with one edge flake. No repairs. Folks find another one, truly a rare bird. Standing 8 3/4" Tall
