Scarce John Barnes Masonic Stamp Marked Alabama Jug (close to Gus Creek). Classic tooling under the lip and tooling under the handle which were traits of John Barnes. This example would be circa 1835 to 1840. Highly significant example in Alabama stoneware. This is the first example Cagle Auction has offered before. Condition is near mint with drying lines. Note Not a hairline. The jug rings true and is water tight. Other than that, there are no issues or repairs or chips. Fresh example standing 9 3/4" Tall
