Lot 44:
Stunning Four Gallon Baynham, Edgefield District South Carolina Jar. If you collect Baynham, this jar is hands down one of the finest glazed examples I’ve ever laid my eyes on. The jar is simply museum quality and that is an understatement. I challenge anyone to find a better glazed example. Classic Baynham form lug lifter handles and a rich salt over slip glaze that throws an absolutely vibrant honey golden hue over a mature slip glaze. This jar has been seen by the late Terry Ferrell of Edgefield, South Carolina and he stated it was one of the finest he ever saw. Condition is mint with no chips, cracks, or repairs. This example was offered by Cagle Auction over 12 years ago and is once again returning to Cagle auction block. Standing 15" Tall.
Condition: Mint
