Lot 89:
Significant – The Lion. MFG Co. Liquor Jug Atlanta Ga. One gallon. If you collect Atlanta area jugs and Liquor jugs, then I will almost bet you will not have seen this one. Through my research this is the only one known intact, a shard fragment was dug in the 1970s in Atlanta and has the stamp. No other collector has seen a intact example until this one surfaced. Highly significant piece and is a one of a kind example. Early Atlanta liquor jug and simply find another one. I doubt in my lifetime I’ll see another example. Strong stamp. No doubt potted by CS Kline of Howell Mills District Atlanta Georgia. Circa 1880s with a salt and slip glaze. Condition is outstanding with minor wear to lip of age and use. No hairline cracks. The lip has stress lines and are stable. see pictures. No repairs. Standing 10" Tall
